Look familiar........

There is always a big debate over who the baby looks like. She has her mom's eyes but the dad's smile. I am afraid Kalia got my "look". This look may be familiar to some but not all. Jono especially has seen this look (almost daily) and in so many instances that I don't have time to list them. But for fun I will list other instances where giving this look is necessary.

Instances that have needed this look:

If I decide to be nice and let you go ahead of me in line at the store because you have two things and I have a bagillion, then to thank me you let your friend go ahead of you and then you both pay with checks.

If you freak out because our baby is in the plant section and you say that we are not being responsible parents because she could get salmonella poisoning.

If you follow me around the mall trying to get me to try your kiosk makeup up and you some how get me to sit down in your little chair and then talk so fast that I can't tell you I forgot my wallet then, tell me you are trying to sell me a tiny thing of makeup for the screaming bargain of $80 marked down from $150 and then when I finally squeeze in two words to let you know that I have $11 on me, then say "why didn't you tell me".

When I get "invented" in cities and knights (most of you won't know what that means and believe me you are better off not knowing.

Anyone who has seen this look from me, I apologize, because this look doesn't relay the message that I am happy with whatever is going on. My only hope is that I don't have food on my face and boogers hanging out my nose (like Kalia) when I give this look, I think it would take away from the seriousness that this look implies.

Halloween!!!

It's a little late but none of my pictures were any good, luckily, friends took picture that were. Kalia was a fairy this year and it was so cute. Jono took her to a couple of houses to make sure that we got some candy. She understood the taking candy part but "trick or treat" is not exactly in her list of the ten words she knows. She will understand even more next year, I'm so excited about that.

Christmas in October

Most people know that I have a hard time waiting for christmas. Jono and I always open presents early because I justify it by saying that we should have our own Christmas before we go see family but this year I took it to a whole new level. I decided that I was going to give Kalia her presents early, very early. I wanted to get her a couple of riding toys and I figured why wait until Christmas?? She doesn't know the difference and they will just sit in the closet and go unused. Jono barely even make fun of me, I think he has finally given up.....

Cabo Wabo

We just got back on Tuesday from a cruise to Cabo. It was very fun and our first trip without the baby. Thankfully my parents stayed at our house and helped her 8 year old uncle Syd take care of her. I was pretty stressed about leaving her for the first time and that first day was kind of hard but, as soon as I knew what a good time she was having I was able to relax and have a good time. It was so relaxing and Jono and I had such a fun time together. It was almost scary how quickly I moved back into babyless mode. I went from can't see a baby Kalia's age without crying to, "do I have a baby?" We relaxed and ate a lot and spent a day in Cabo, which was the funnest part. Jono of course practiced his Spanish and I pretended not to hear the locals comment on how good his Spanish was because I knew I would be hearing about it for the rest of the trip. We also went parasailing, which was not scary for some reason, especially because everything is scary to me, it was just relaxing. We had a good time and can't wait to do it again.

Kalia's cousin came to visit....

Kalia's cousin Logan and Aunt Erin came to visit her last week. It was so fun. We went to the LA Zoo, which was okay by the way. I don’t really like the way the zoo is set up. We had a hard time finding all the animals and when we did find them they were asleep and when they were not asleep the strollers were too short to see anything, and it was hot, but other than that it was awesome! Actually, there was a giraffe that we got really close to and got a good picture of. There was also a petting zoo that they liked. We also went to the beach and did some shopping. It felt a little short and felt like there was so much more we wanted to do, maybe next time.......

Summer at the Beach

As many of you know one of the perks of living in southern California is going to the beach. Kalia has done that quite a bit this summer. Between going to Volleyball tournaments with her dad, beach days with me and the occasional family beach trip she has been quite a bit this summer. She loves the ocean, it unfortunately does not scare her at all. She gets a little freaked when her face hits this water but she keeps going back for more. Here are some pictures from her summer time at the beach.

Getting Started... again......

I didn't like our old blog name or setup, so I figured that it would be easier to just start all over again.....

I am hoping that this will be some kind of journal for our family since I am not much of a journal keeper. Also, this will hopefully help our out-of-state family to stay updated.
